He said the state of humanity was homosexual but he was the only heterosexual. When he raped one of his female members he stated that he was doing it for her and for her peace. As the temple grew, more full time positions opened within and people left their previous jobs. People moved across the country and across the world with no contact, leaving their families behind. People would speak of sleeping 1.5 hours but others would scoff at them when they stated they only slept for 1. Guilt was also used to keep the members in and keep them from leaving the temple because they would be doing a disservice to integration, helping the elderly, and supporting the community. People joined the Peoples Temple because they were welcomed. Everyone was let in and it was a hopeful, energetic place. It was an accepting religious community. Its functions were to help the elders in the community, provide equality for all races, and to remove social class boundaries. It was a socialist society where equality and supporting others was its main cause. It was so appealing because of all its opportunities. People were being healed and had everything they needed provided to them. It was a large pot of money if you invested everything you had in it. Whatever you needed, Jim Jones would make sure you got it. Problems some of the members of the Peoples Temple faced were: inability to leave, deceit by members, abuse, false information, lack of power, and fear. At Jonestown, Jones said that people could leave, but only with permission, and the leave was never permanent. The idea that he said you could leave, was false; once you were in the cult, you were in it till the end. Many members were deceived by their husbands, wives, children, neighbors, and friends. If someone slipped a note to the media or told their wife they were leaving, the person would turn them in and they would be punished. Punishment was another issue. Public meetings where members stood and told of their sins were common, but the other members and Jones would verbally and physically abuse them. Women were raped by Jones and Jones would suggest that the people remain abstinent and/or be homosexuals. Many people joined the temple in happy marriages and they were ruined by him. When in the jungle, the only information about the outside world came from Jones. Jones fed them his lies and his paranoia. The people had no power against Jim Jones, and if they spoke against him, no one would join the person who told their opinion. Fear of death and punishment was rampant as Jones became more ill. Jim Jones was appealing because he was younger and accepting. He took care of the peoples basic needs and was very persuasive. He kept his promises and was fully committed to his work. He did what he said he was going to do and his outer image was one that made huge, elegant nursing homes for the elderly members of the temple. If the people invested their money now, they would be taken care of now, but spoiled in luxury later in life. His followers were so devoted because they saw the compassionate and energetic community. Survival is the primary thought and tendency of the people, there is no time or enough resources to go through all of the grades. People own family businesses that do not require education or strict policies. The government is corrupt and unbalanced. People are always fighting for independence or power or control. Taxes go unpaid, giving the government little control and other laws little to no enforcement. Gangs provide a sense of family and belonging to orphans and misfits. They can channel their anger to a cause and become rich. The two largest gangs in Latin America grow plants for cocaine or are the largest drug lord in the country. This not only gives them wealth, but power and control over everything. Because drugs are so common, this is another normality within these areas. The gang culture of drugs, prostitution, wealth, and violence is corrupting the pure and innocent population of Latin America.

Even before the story unfolds there is simple irony that in Just the title of A Good Man Is Hard To Find, where a nice family vacation turns Into a disastrous murder. When I first began reading, I never thought that the story would have such an ending. The mood of the story went from normal to sad fairly quickly. Obviously getting cheated out of your money is not a good thing. There is situational Irony in the story because as the grandma talks about not going to Florida because there Is a misfit, nobody pays attention to her, even dismissing what she was saying and them not listening to her put them on deaths path. The grandmother warns that The Misfit is on the loose, but the family chooses to head towards Florida anyway. The way the situation happened not listening to her and listening to her brought about their demise. Another example of irony is that even though the grandmother said she would never take her family to a place where a Misfit is running a lose she ends up leading them to the Misfit anyway. While driving the grandma becoming nostalgic from seeing a dirt road and thinks about an old plantation and wanting to see It again lies about the house have trapped doors making the children beg to see it. At this point in the story the grandma leads the family into their death because she didn’t mentioned that she made a mistake about the plantation that she remember was in Tennessee and they were in Georgia. After remembering her feet Jumps scaring the cat that she wasn’t supposed to bring on the trip to Jump onto Bailey causing him to spin, thus leading Into the fated accident. There was another example of situational Irony because the help that the family received after the accident happens to be the Misfit the grandma originally warned bout, but they just happen to be in Georgia and were supposed to be in Florida. I think the Grandma knew she was going to die because as the Misfit lead her son and his family away she called the Misfit a good man† and that he wouldn’t shoot a lady. She begged for her life and did not care to try and save her son or grandchildren. She Just kept claiming to the misfit that he was â€Å"a good man†, even though he stated which is why he went around killing people in order to fulfill his life. He knew what he was doing was wrong but he killed the grandma anyway. Moreover, I can see the bulging ego of the characters and how material world have influenced the lives of humanity in general. I see egocentricities and heavy pride in the old woman as well in the dominant hard character of the son. In the presence of the Misfit, I have perceived lack of respect and a strong absence of beliefs to the supreme being. Again, a good man is in fact difficult to find. Man is generally evil, proud, materialistic and lost. Only with God’s grace and guidance they can be led in a correct pathway of life. In the story, these ideas were emphasized making me stay with my thoughts regarding the story. As the grandmother and the Misfit found something uncommon, it was actually not as uncommon as they have thought. It was sin and suffering in life. Although the word â€Å"sin† is not explicitly exposed in the story A Good Man is Hard to Find, the action and consequences of sin are vividly present throughout the story, in all the characters, especially the Grandmother. The main character and sinner in the story is the Grandmother because she is described as an egocentric person, since the situation they face is that they are all captives of the serial killer, â€Å"The Misfit†, and she bargains for her life only. The grandmother said, â€Å"You wouldn’t shoot a lady, would you? † (Flannery O’Connor 313). This is an obvious example of how she doesn’t stop to think about the rest of her family. In addition, one might think that in various occasions the Grandmother makes simple comments that compare different times of her life, the present and how things used to be. On the other hand, Grandmothers’ comments represent the comparison between the dark past of society and the reality that it hasn’t changed much. During the trip, Grandmother makes a comment that reflects her comparisons; she said â€Å"In my time, children were more respectful of their native states and their parents and everything else. People did right then† (Flannery O’Connor 308). In the same scene, Grandmother contradicts herself by saying, â€Å"Little niggers in the country don’t have things like we do. If I could paint, I’d paint that picture,† (Flannery O’Connor 308). No argument, she is a barefaced hypocrite. Furthermore, the way she dressed to go on a road trip, as the author describes the grandmother, â€Å"Had on a navy blue straw sailor hat with a bunch of white violets on a brim and a navy dress with a small white dot on print. †(Flannery O’Connor 307). Also, her jewelry â€Å"her collars and cuffs where white organdy trimmed with lace and her neckline she had pinned a purple spray of cloth violets containing a sachet. (Flannery O’Connor 307). Her exaggerated outfit, plus the extreme jewelry for a road trip reflects her ego and her desire to be noticed as a lady. Whether one believes in God, or not, we all embark on the journey of life, in which we experience an inner transformation. Any journey has a destination; however, decisions made during the trip may alter the destination and its outcome. Flannery O’Connor uses the road trip to represent the pilgrimage Grandmother and her family must go through. Since the beginning of the trip, Grandmother took unnecessary stuff, â€Å"her big black valise that looked like a head of a hippopotamus†, and her mascot â€Å"Pitty Sing, the cat† (Flannery O’Connor 307), knowing that this action will incommode the family and eventually be a factor of the cause of the accident. One might think that the baggage represents only inconvenience; nonetheless, this represents ones’ regrets or transgressions that haven’t been forgiven nor forgotten. During the trip, the Grandmother makes an important remark about her past when she used to date Mr. Teagarden by saying, â€Å"She would of have done well to marry Mr. Teagarden because he was a gentleman and had bought Coca-Cola stock when first came out and that he had died only a few years ago, a very wealthy man. † (Flannery O’Connor 309). It shows her nostalgia and regret of not marrying that man but it certainly also shows her ambition. She evidently hasn’t experienced true love. Thus, it certainly shows that her baggage did not consist only of clothing and jewelry, but of nostalgia and regret. In addition, the same illusion of her romance with Mr. Teagarden triggered the inner desire in her dream to go visit the plantation and the house where, as Grandmother said, â€Å"You sat down with your suitor after a stroll in the garden. † (Flannery O’Connor 311). Eventually, in a self-centered act, she â€Å"craftily† (Flannery O’Connor 311) lies, causing the detouring of the route. They have taken a dangerous dirty road, as the author describes it â€Å"was hilly and there were sudden washes in it and sharp curves on dangerous embankments† (Flannery O’Connor 312). As a result, while driving on that dangerous road, the accident happened due to Grandmother’s recklessness. This situation metaphors the choices one makes in life and their consequences. The accident is just a sign of how one falls through the journey. There could not be a redemption story without a Savior, and a sinner to whom needs to be redeemed. After the accident, everyone got out of the car and saw the car approaching far away, â€Å"on top of a hill†, giving the sense that help is coming from above, which in a Biblical way, is symbolically showing that help is coming from heaven. In addition, when they arrived, â€Å"the Misfit† gets out, standing in front of them, â€Å"looking down at them† (Flannery O’Connor 313). He is accompanied by two fellows; one wearing a â€Å"shirt with a silver stallion†. All of these details represent a Redeemer, or a Godly figure. In addition, the Redeemer quickly finds who is in need to be redeemed when Grandmother makes a terrible mistake by recognizing the criminal â€Å"You’re the Misfit† she said (Flannery O’Connor 313). At this point, she has commended her whole family and The Misfit confirms that saying â€Å"it would have been better for all of you, lady, if you hadn’t reckernized me. † (Flannery O’Connor 313). Grandmother responds, â€Å"You wouldn’t shoot a lady, would you? † (Flannery O’Connor 313). This action confirms the Misfit that she is the sinner who hasn’t repented from all her sins since she reflects the egocentrism of worrying about her life only, without any given thought about the whole family, not even the children. The Misfit uses the desperation and impotence of the lady to make her realize that there is no escape from the inevitable. As he starts killing the family using the help from his assistants, Grandmother starts to appeal to the Misfit’s heart by saying, â€Å"You’ve got good blood! I know you wouldn’t shoot a lady! † (Flannery O’Connor 316). As the other half of the family was killed, Grandmother tells the Misfit, â€Å"You are one of my own children† (Flannery O’Connor 317) appealing that he would feel loved and would let her live. Nonetheless, she got shot and the Misfit said, â€Å"She would have been a good woman, if it had been somebody there to shoot her every minute of her life. † (Flannery O’Connor 317). This is the vivid example of redemption because in order to know good, and be good, we must face that adversary that puts one to the test and pulls out the good from within. One might relate to the Grandmothers’ feelings of impotence and desperation because when suffering, or facing death, one realizes the true beauty of life and its richness that most of the time are unnoticed due to one’s blindness from sin. In conclusion, A Goodman is Hard to Find is a story that symbolizes redemption because there is a sinner, there is a journey, and there is redemption. The American Colonies The New England and Southern Colonies were both settled largely by the English. By 1700, the regions had evolved into two distinct societies. The southern colonies have characteristics that are the antithesis of the New England colonies attributes. New England was colonized for Freedom of Worship and freedom of political thought. The Southern colonies were developed for freedom of economic opportunity. The New England colonies had aspirations for a distinct society, where they could show their homeland, how a country should be run. The southern colonies had goals for mercantilism, and increasing the prosperity of England. The New England colonies were based on theocracy, where the state forced the people to live and worship in an orthodox way. The southern colonies(Virginia) had a government based on a royal government, where the state was governed by a governor and council named by the king, and an elected assembly chosen by the people. Finally, the New England colonies wanted to establish the colony for religious motives, while the southern colonies were established for economic motives. England and the rebels of England (Pilgrims), made up the New England and southern colonies. "God Almighty in his most holy and wise providence hath so disposed of the condition of mankind, in all times some must be rich, some poor, some high and eminent in power and dignity, other mean and in subjection. Yet we must be knit together in this work as one man."(John Winthrop, A Model of Christian Charity) This statement by John Winthrop, demonstrates importance of religion in the lives of the New England settlers. "We must delight in each other, make others' conditions our own, rejoice together, mourn together, labor and suffer together, always having before our eyes our commission and community in the work, our community as members of the same body." (John Winthrop, A Model of Christian Charity). The use of the word "together" and "community" indicates that the New England settlers were of a communal nature, they were less individualistic than the southern colonies. The New England colonies were based on religious freedom, thus their society was reflected the religion. "These underwritten names are to be transported to Virginia, embarked in the Merchant's Hope, Hugh Weston, Master, per examination by the minister of Gravesend touching upon their conformity to the Church discipline of England, and have taken oaths of allegiance and supremacy:" (Ship's List of Emigrants Bound for Virginia). The use of the word "Master", shows, that the southern colonies were more of a individualistic state rather than a communal state(New England). This individualism was the effect of the motivation of the southern colonies for economic opportunity. "We whose names are underwritten, being by God's providnce engaged together to make a plantation...." (Articles of Agreement). The New England settlers, again were of a communal nature, in how they are binding together for the good of the community. "We intend by God's grace, as soon as we can with all convenient speed, to procure some Godly and faithful minster with whom we purpose to join in church covenant to walk in the ways of Christ."(Articles of Agreement). The statement above, shows how the minister, was the head of the theocracy, of the small communities. Furthermore, the "Articles of Agreement", demonstates the importance of sharing within the community. This article, was another product of the motivation of the New England settlers for religious freedom. "This court... in the interim recommends [that] all tradesmen and laborers consider the religious end of their callings...". The puritans believed everyone had a specific duty in life, something that one was proficient at. Almost all the mores and society itself radiated from religion, as a result, many people who couldn't endure the rigidity of such a society were exiled and the dissenters created new societies. The organizational strategy and mindset linked associated with its approach to gain the more profit and good reputation of the company. For the this purpose different organization use different kind of methods and techniques like Competitive price, availability, right product to the right place etc. in order to check the Author’s hypothesis weather the data collection and response from different kind of people is in favor of Author or not Author must analyze the data received. 5.1   Age + Gender Distribution The above calculated results show that among the participants 60% are men and 40% are women who took part within this survey. Author received the response from the different age groups but the major response received from 16 to 35 and according to them male percentage is very high. The respondents have been divided according to their age groups. The collected results are quite understandable those tells that most of the participants belong to the age group of ‘20-30’, 10% belong to ‘Under 20’, 20% belong to ‘31-40’, 105 belong to ‘41-50’, 10% belong to ‘51-60’ and another 10% belong to ‘Over 60’. The results tell that most of the participants who participated in this survey are from the age group of ‘20-30’. 5.2 Change of Taste + Brand Consciousness It is a general perception that company brand and name plays a vital role in order to sale any product but Author’s response which he got different people of different age group is quite opposite from above stated because 67% people told that they are not brand conscious and if they get taste and good price from some non famous company they do not hesitate to buy a new product and among them 77% people shows their intentions that they are ready to change their taste. 43% people are ready to purchase a new energy drink and 40% told probably and it is also a positive sign for the author. 5.3 Boost of Energy + Harmful for Health Energy drinks are the most cheap and affordable way to boosts the energy and it is also proved through the response which Author received from data collection that 67% people endorse the statement that energy drink is most affordable way to increase the energy but on the other hand there is a continuous research ongoing that Energy drink is really harmful for health but there is still some diversion on that opinion that weather massive use of Energy drink is harmful or moderate use is also harmful. 43% people are agreeing with the above stated statement but on the other hand Author also got the response from 50% people they don’t know about this. This is a positive sign but there is a possible loss on profit if in upcoming days people get more aware and become health conscious. 5.4 Use of Caffine is addictive The above results clearly shows that 70% respondent agree with the statement that high use of cafine is really addictive, 20% don’t know about it and only 10 % disagree with this statement. In every Energy drink caffine is used but its quantity is bit high rather than Tea and coffee and there is a discussion in the world that is caffine is addictive or not and 70% people think that yes. It is also very alarming for the author. 5.5 Affordability of Price + Reason to buy New Drink The affordability of price and availability of the product is an important part of any business when there are already some product of the same kind exist and 47% people respond to the that both these things will encourage them to buy a new product and 77% people shows their price range below Rs:60 so it will defiantly help Author to decide their price of the product. 5.6 Interest to buy Xtreme + Competitors As Author knows that already there are different brands in the same market so Author must know that who is the most competitive competitor of his product and response from the populations showed that Red bull (37%) and Sting (27%) are the major competitors. If a company wants to launch a new product then it must know whether people are interested to buy your product or not. Author received the response from 57% people that they are ready to purchase new product and 50% people showed their interest to buy within next month if there is the availability of the product. Chapter 6 Conclusion In the previous chapter the results which Author got were analyzed and discussed comprehensively. In the current chapter the complete study process and findings and then we get the conclusion of this research. The main purpose of this research is to wrap those factors which have still not be discussed and mistreated. Environmental analysis is very important before launching a new product in the market. In the process of analyze environmental factors SWOT and PEST Analysis plays an important role and this analysis can be applied successfully for the efficiency and productivity of the company. Marketing Strategies are also have a vital role in order to place a new product in the market because today is age of marketing and every company use different marketing strategies but for this purpose every company must know that under which strategies where is its position. Product opportunity matrix, BCG matrix and Product life cycle are very important strategies which give you a clear picture that where is you now and how to step ahead towards success. Target marketing is a also very important aspect of this research and this segment of research helps the Author about to apply right marketing tools to the write people and right place. As this is the Energy Drink so people age 16 to 25 are the best customers which company must approach so market segmentation is very important in order to launch a new product.
